Just like diets, journalist’s stories must also be balanced. There should be no skew throughout the article (more detail on good journalist values can be found on this post) or else it will either end up reading like a column jammed with opinions, or lack reader engagement by being filled with facts. Therefore, facts and opinions expressed within the article must be balanced to create a well executed piece that impacts the reader.
To ensure that my news story is not explicitly weighted towards one aspect in particular, I took to the internet in order to help me stabilise my article with an equal amount of fact-based statements and opinion based statements.
