I do not know anyone who likes to wait.  We live in a society fascinated by the idea of immediate gratification.  We want everything to happen RIGHT NOW.  Every Monday morning, we silently (and sometimes not so silently) long for Friday.  We revel in the rare instances when there is no traffic to slow us down on our way to work or back home again.  When we walk into a restaurant and give our name to the host or hostess, our usual next question is “how long is the wait”.  We do not like to wait.  Perhaps that is why the idea of waiting on God is so prevalent in the Bible.  In today’s key passage, we learn that Paul had to wait for more than two years in prison at the hands of Felix…
